Hail damage is sneaky. It doesn't always look like a hole or a missing shingle. A lot of the time, it shows up in ways most homeowners wouldn't even think to check for - granules sitting in the gutters, bruising on the shingles, and dented or bent roof vents.

Granule loss is one of the first things we look for during a roof inspection after a storm. Those granules aren't just there for looks - they protect the asphalt underneath from UV exposure and heat. When hail knocks them loose, that dark, exposed asphalt starts breaking down faster than it should. Over time, that leads to cracking, leaking, and a roof that fails way ahead of schedule.

Roof vents take a hit too. Turbine vents and other exposed metal components on the roof can get dented, bent, or knocked out of alignment by hail. When a vent gets damaged, it can stop functioning the way it's supposed to - which matters a lot for attic ventilation and moisture control. A damaged vent can also become an entry point for water if it's not caught early.

The gutter check is one of the easiest ways for a homeowner to spot a problem after a storm. If you're seeing a significant buildup of granules sitting in the bottom of your gutters, that's not normal wear - that's a sign your shingles took a hit. It's worth getting a professional set of eyes on it before you assume everything is fine.

We do honest roof inspections - no pressure, no inflated damage claims. If there's a problem, we'll show you exactly what we found and walk you through your options. If things look okay, we'll tell you that too.
